UKBCCI START ME UP PROJECT -Delivery sessions
We are delighted to share the good news that UKBCCI has been awarded The National Lottery Community Funding for the “Start Me Up Project” starting from November 2023 to June 2024. This aims to inspire people age between 21 to 60 years from BAME community living in Tower Hamlets who are interested in entrepreneurship and are aspiring to set up their own business.
“Start Me Up Project” is supporting our participants in building their business ideas; as well as providing mentorship who are interested in entrepreneurship and are aspiring to set up their own business.

UKBCCI Trade show and business networking event
The UKBCCI trade show and business networking event held on Monday 8th January 2024 hosted by Midlands Region at Yasmin Banqueting, 1 Intown Row, Walsall, WS1 2AD.
The event was to bring together the business community from within the locality, to meet and network and to host a trade show for young British Bangladeshi entrepreneurs who have diversified into many different sectors. The trade show was focused on to showcase the products and services to a large and diverse audience of potential customers and partners.
The feedback following the event was very positive and the event was highly successful. The news coverage of the event was broadcast on all ethnic media channels, once again recognising UKBCCI as the leading British/Bangladeshi business platform.
The Chief Guest of the event was Foysal Choudhury MBE MSP, Shadow Minister for Culture, Europe and International Development, The Scottish Parliament, the Guest of Honour was HE Mr. Md. Alimuzzaman, Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner to Birmingham and special guests were Kamal Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director, Seamark PLC International & Subrina Hossain, CEO NTV
The event was attended by UKBCCI Directors guests from the business community from across the UK along with UKBCCI members, VIP guests and print & digital media.
UKBCCI President, M G Moula Miah Awarded an MBE
The UKBCCI President, Mr M G Moula has been bestowed an MBE in the King’s New Years Honours.It was awarded to M G Moula Miah for making a positive impact to the Bangladeshi community and to charity.
Miah is the chairman of the Rajnagar Business Group (UK and Bangladesh) and Moula Foundation, a family-run foundation which promotes charitable activity in the UK and Bangladesh.
His business group consists of restaurants including Rajnagar in Dickens Heath, hotels, recruitment, superstores, and agro-based industry.
He said: “I am honoured to be recognised as an MBE for my services to the Bangladeshi community and for charity (both locally in the UK and in Bangladesh), and I look forward to continuing my work, collaborating with others and hope that I can inspire others to remain dedicated and motivated to achieve impacts in their respective fields.”
Over the years Miah worked closely within Bangladeshi social welfare organisations such as the Bangladesh Welfare Association (Birmingham) to provide guidance, advice and support for Bangladeshis that have newly settled into Birmingham.
UKBCCI Directors awarded CIP Trophy from Bangladesh Government
UKBCCI Director Mr Abdul Karim Nazim received CIP Trophy on 30th December 2023 from Mr Imran Ahmed, Honourable Minister of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment of Bangladesh. Mr Nazim is also the Vice Chairman of Shahajalal Islami Bank of Bangladesh
