UKBCCI Launches Innovation Summit & Hackathon to Supercharge British-Bangladeshi Entrepreneurs
London, UK — 21st JULY 2025
The UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce & Industry (UKBCCI) has announced the official launch of its 2025 Innovation Summit & Hackathon, a bold new initiative designed to discover, elevate, and reward innovative solutions from the British-Bangladeshi communities.
With a prize fund of £2,000 to £5,000 and the support of high-profile partners, the Hackathon will be more than a competition — it will act as a launchpad for new ventures, technologies, and sector-transforming ideas.
This initiative comes at a critical time. According to the Federation of Small Businesses, 15% of UK SMEs are minority-led, yet these businesses are underrepresented in venture capital, digital infrastructure, and international trade access.
“The Innovation Summit is our response to a clear need: British-Bangladeshi entrepreneurs have the ideas, the ambition, and the creativity. What they often lack is exposure and opportunity”said Abdul Q Khalique (Jamal),Senior Vice President of UKBCCI & & CEO of Taj Stores & Taj Group Of Companies. “This is about unlocking the brilliance that already exists in our community.”
Participants will gain direct access to industry mentors, government trade officials, and investors. The initiative will also strengthen UK-Bangladesh business collaboration and innovation pipelines.
“At UKBCCI, we believe our youth are the architects of tomorrow’s business success. By investing in their ideas, energy, and potential, we are laying the foundation for a more dynamic and inclusive economy. It is our responsibility to guide and empower them.”
— Mr. M G Moula Miah MBE, President, UKBCCI
Founding President of UKBCCI and Chairman of Progressive Life Insurance Bajloor Rashid MBE added:
“Empowering young entrepreneurs today ensures a more resilient and innovative business landscape tomorrow. UKBCCI is committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders who will drive sustainable growth across communities and borders.”
The event will be hosted in November 2025, with applications opening in September. The UKBCCI is calling on tech leaders, corporations, and financial institutions to join as sponsors or challenge partners.
