Iftar & Business Engagement – Midlands Region
The UKBCCI Midlands Region successfully hosted its Iftar & Business Engagement on Monday, 23rd February 2026, at Badshah Palace, Walsall Road, Birmingham.
The event was honoured by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr Sujan Debnath, the newly appointed Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Birmingham.
The evening was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback and brought together distinguished members of the British Bangladeshi business community, alongside UKBCCI directors, members, and community leaders. The gathering provided a valuable platform for networking, dialogue, and strengthening business collaboration, making it a truly meaningful and impactful occasion.
UKBCCI London Region Inauguration & Business Networking Event
London, 12th November 2025: The UKBCCI formally inaugurated its new London Region Committee on Wednesday evening at the prestigious Woolston Manor Golf Course & Country Club in Chigwell. The ceremony, accompanied by a dynamic business networking event, brought together prominent businessmen, diplomats, entrepreneurs, community leaders and media representatives.
The event was jointly hosted by UKBCCI International Trade Affairs Director Rohema Miah and London Region Secretary Jamal Ahmed. Welcoming the guests, London Region Convener Kamru Ali opened the program. Later, UKBCCI President M G Moula Miah MBE officially announced the new committee, stating: “UKBCCI will continue to welcome new members and establish additional regions to support local businesses and young entrepreneurs more effectively.”

Newly elected President Kamru Ali remarked: “Our primary goal is to inspire the new generation to pursue entrepreneurship and contribute to the UK economy.”
UKBCCI Founding President Bajloor Rashid MBE expressed confidence that the new leadership would further strengthen trade ties between the UK and Bangladesh.
UKBCCI Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE highlighted the organisation’s twelve-year contribution to entrepreneurship development, trade expansion and encouraging investment in Bangladesh — particularly in the tourism sector of Sylhet.
This year’s committee includes two female entrepreneurs, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to women’s leadership.
The event was attended by central and regional leaders including former President Nazrul Islam Nuru, Senior Vice President A Q Khalique (Jamal), East England President Siddqur Rahman, Midlands President Imam Uddin Ahmed, former London Region President Jamal Uddin Mokoddus, Legal Afairs Director Barrister Anawar Miah , Director Farzana Hussain Neela, ITV presenter Gary Newbon MBE, NTV Europe CEO Sabrina Hussain and Channel S Head of Programme Farhan Masud Khan.
Finance Director Dr. Josh and BCA President Oli Khan MBE were also present.
Special Guest Tanvir Mohammad Azim, Commercial Counsellor of the Bangladesh High Commission, praised UKBCCI’s ongoing efforts in supporting new entrepreneurs, attracting foreign investment and enhancing bilateral business relations.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Vice President Fakhrul Islam Chowdhury, followed by a delightful cultural performance and dinner.

Dialogue with the Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK_ Midlands Region



The UKBCCI Midlands Region proudly organised a special event, Dialogue with the Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK, on 2nd November 2025 at Badshah Palace, Birmingham.
The programme was graced by Her Excellency Ms Abida Islam, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, as the Chief Guest. The programme was attended by a wide range of dignitaries, prominent figures from the British Bangladeshi business community, UKBCCI directors and members, as well as members of the media. The session provided an important forum for open discussion, meaningful exchange of views, and strengthened engagement between the diplomatic mission and the business community.
The event was highly appreciated by participants and marked another significant step in reinforcing economic dialogue and collaboration between the UK and Bangladesh.
UKBCCI East of England Region Launches New Committee in Luton —And Business Networking Event
Luton, 13 October 2025: The UKBCCI formally launched its new East of England Regional Committee at a grand ceremony and business networking event held on Monday evening at Crescent Hall, Luton.
With more than 150 entrepreneurs, community leaders, and dignitaries in attendance, the evening turned into a vibrant celebration of business, collaboration, and community spirit.
In a special video message, UKBCCI Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE congratulated the newly formed committee and wished them every success, expressing his confidence in the region’s future achievements.
Delivering the welcome address, Siddiqur Rahman Joynal, President of the East of England Region, said:
“UKBCCI is not just a business organisation—it is a symbol of unity for expatriate entrepreneurs. I am grateful to the UKBCCI President and Directors for entrusting me with this responsibility. As Regional President, I am committed to strengthening trade links between local entrepreneurs and Bangladesh.”
During the ceremony, UKBCCI President M. G. Moula Miah MBE was presented with flowers by Jamal Uddin Mokoddus, Foysal Ahmed, and Siddiqur Rahman Joynal in recognition of his leadership. Additionally, Chef Online CEO Munim Salik was honoured with floral greetings for being selected as a Commercially Important Person (CIP).
Since its inception, the UKBCCI East of England Region has supported local businesses and young entrepreneurs, creating a number of inspiring success stories that reflect the organisation’s growing impact.
The evening was co-hosted by Barrister Anwar Miah, Director of Central Legal Affairs, along with Shahin Uddin and Shahriar Ahmed.
Among the attendees were several central and regional UKBCCI leaders, including Senior Vice President Abdul Quayum Khalique Jamal, Midlands Region President Imam Uddin, London Region Convenor Kamru Ali, Finance Director Dr. Josh, Membership Director Saiful Alam, and Director Karim Miah Shamim.
Special guests included Tanvir Mohammad Azim, Commercial Counsellor of the Bangladesh High Commission; Nazia Khanum OBE; Salim Ahmed, Managing Director of S&Co Accountancy; Jag Hir, Finance and Property Specialist; and Shahanara Naser, Deputy Mayor of Luton.
In his keynote address, UKBCCI President M. G. Moula Miah MBE said:
“Bangladeshi entrepreneurs have established a strong presence not only in the UK but also on the global stage. Through our regional committees, UKBCCI is committed to serving local businesses more effectively. By expanding further across the country, we will continue to provide valuable advice, support, and networking platforms to empower entrepreneurs.”
A vote of thanks was offered by Azad Ali, Press and Publicity Secretary and Director of Crescent Hall, who expressed gratitude to all attendees and supporters.
The evening concluded with a delightful cultural performance and dinner, where guests enjoyed an atmosphere of music, fine cuisine, and fellowship.
