Luton, 13 October 2025: The UKBCCI formally launched its new East of England Regional Committee at a grand ceremony and business networking event held on Monday evening at Crescent Hall, Luton.
With more than 150 entrepreneurs, community leaders, and dignitaries in attendance, the evening turned into a vibrant celebration of business, collaboration, and community spirit.
In a special video message, UKBCCI Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE congratulated the newly formed committee and wished them every success, expressing his confidence in the region’s future achievements.
Delivering the welcome address, Siddiqur Rahman Joynal, President of the East of England Region, said:
“UKBCCI is not just a business organisation—it is a symbol of unity for expatriate entrepreneurs. I am grateful to the UKBCCI President and Directors for entrusting me with this responsibility. As Regional President, I am committed to strengthening trade links between local entrepreneurs and Bangladesh.”
During the ceremony, UKBCCI President M. G. Moula Miah MBE was presented with flowers by Jamal Uddin Mokoddus, Foysal Ahmed, and Siddiqur Rahman Joynal in recognition of his leadership. Additionally, Chef Online CEO Munim Salik was honoured with floral greetings for being selected as a Commercially Important Person (CIP).
Since its inception, the UKBCCI East of England Region has supported local businesses and young entrepreneurs, creating a number of inspiring success stories that reflect the organisation’s growing impact.
The evening was co-hosted by Barrister Anwar Miah, Director of Central Legal Affairs, along with Shahin Uddin and Shahriar Ahmed.
Among the attendees were several central and regional UKBCCI leaders, including Senior Vice President Abdul Quayum Khalique Jamal, Midlands Region President Imam Uddin, London Region Convenor Kamru Ali, Finance Director Dr. Josh, Membership Director Saiful Alam, and Director Karim Miah Shamim.
Special guests included Tanvir Mohammad Azim, Commercial Counsellor of the Bangladesh High Commission; Nazia Khanum OBE; Salim Ahmed, Managing Director of S&Co Accountancy; Jag Hir, Finance and Property Specialist; and Shahanara Naser, Deputy Mayor of Luton.
In his keynote address, UKBCCI President M. G. Moula Miah MBE said:
“Bangladeshi entrepreneurs have established a strong presence not only in the UK but also on the global stage. Through our regional committees, UKBCCI is committed to serving local businesses more effectively. By expanding further across the country, we will continue to provide valuable advice, support, and networking platforms to empower entrepreneurs.”
A vote of thanks was offered by Azad Ali, Press and Publicity Secretary and Director of Crescent Hall, who expressed gratitude to all attendees and supporters.
The evening concluded with a delightful cultural performance and dinner, where guests enjoyed an atmosphere of music, fine cuisine, and fellowship.
