
Under the continued leadership of Mr. M G Moula Miah MBE, who has been overwhelmingly re-elected as President of UKBCCI, the first Board Meeting of the newly elected Executive Board of the UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce & Industry (UKBCCI) was successfully held.
During the meeting, Directors discussed and agreed in principle on a strategic and financial roadmap for the next two years. A number of exciting initiatives are in the pipeline, including dedicated efforts to engage and support more women entrepreneurs from within the British-Bangladeshi community. The Board also took the opportunity to celebrate and extend heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Bajloor Rashid MBE, UKBCCI Founding President, on being elected as Chairman of Progressive Life Insurance Company Ltd, a prominent publicly listed company on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
Mr. Rashid, a visionary entrepreneur and committed social advocate, has had a prolific career in both the UK and Bangladesh. In the early 1980s, he made his mark in the UK’s hospitality sector, later expanding his ventures to include real estate, insurance, and medical institutions in Bangladesh. Today, he is not only a founding shareholder of Progressive Life Insurance Company Ltd but also a key figure in various other sectors, including tourism and energy.
The newly elected Central Executive Committee is united in its dedication to work collaboratively with all UKBCCI Directors in achieving the goals outlined in the 2-Year Strategic Plan. UKBCCI’s mission is looked forward to being advanced, and meaningful impact is expected to be created across communities and industries.
